I really enjoyed reading book one of this series, “Rethana’s Surrender.” A great fantasy with a new language, strong characters and a great story line. Book two, “Rethana’s Trial” was even better! Great author, and great story. Will definitely be reading more by this author. I can recommend this book to teens and up. I give it a solid 5 stars. Well done.

Book Review for “Rethana’s Surrender” Fiction-Fantasy (Series)
It happens to be FREE on Amazon Ebook version at the time of this review.
I enjoyed Rethana’s Surrender. Courtney Cantrell is a new author for me and I found I really liked her writing style. The main character is a strong, yet flawed young woman. There are various struggles, twists and turns, and many obstacles to overcome. I think the language and the way the characters speak bring a smile to my face, there is some humor inserted throughout the book. The first book finished in a good place, leaving the rest of the story unfinished, but at a good junction. I am ordering the second book right away. I can recommend this book for teens and up. I give the book a solid 4 stars.
Book Review for “How Sweet It Is” – Christian Romance
Bonnie Blythe has written a sweet Christian romance. It isn’t preachy and the love story is tender and fun. You can’t go wrong with chocolate and love. The theme is a damsel in distress and a hunky ex-surfer who have a chance meeting while in Europe. I give it 4 stars. A great weekend book. This book is suitable for teens and up due to it’s clean content.
Book Review for “An Accident of Birth”
I was given a copy of “An Accident of Birth” by the author in exchange for an honest review. I loved the story line of this book. A great Dystopian theme. I think I would have enjoyed it more if the characters had been “fleshed out” a bit, especially some of the secondary characters. Sometimes adding more length to the book is ok. More background story may have helped as well. I would read more of this author. This is his first published work and I am sure that his story telling talents will only get better. Due to a rape scene I don’t recommend for under the age of 17. I give this book 3 stars.
Book Review For “Sleepless” Fiction
I was given this book by the author, Tracey Ward, in exchange for an honest review. I loved this book! Loved the storyline, A woman who “Slips” in her dreams to places she’s been before, who meets a military man who has issues. I love a good romance, especially minus the sappy stuff, plus I love all things military, a perfect mix for me!The book includes a good does of humor and insight into the characters. Good writing style. Nothing negative to say. Can’t wait to read the rest of the series and I added her other works to my “to read” list. There is some swearing and sexual references so I recommend for ages 16 and up. I give the book 5 stars.

Book Review for “Public Garden Penny” Middle Grade Fiction
I enjoyed this book. It is written through the eyes of a ten year old boy. There is some humor, some sad parts and it is well written. However, I didn’t love it. There is a couple of swear words, one I happen to hate. This is intended for middle grade and up and I just don’t think swearing is necessary in a young person’s book. I have to take away one star due to this, of course if this type of thing doesn’t bother you then disregard the loss of one star. I give Public Garden Penny 3 stars.
Book Review for “Havah” by Tosca Lee-Fiction
I love the author, Tosca Lee and have read some of her other work. This book is great. I often have speculated on what it was like for Adam and Eve to just BE, and what became of them after they were expelled from the garden. Tosca Lee does a wonderful job of giving us a possible scenario. I wanted to love it, but it is overwhelmingly sad for me. Not the writing or even the story, but the whole fall of mankind thing. The book is one of hope, they do go on with life after all. Good fiction. I give it 4 stars.
