I was given a copy of this book by the author, Sherrel Lee, in exchange for an honest review. I liked the basis of this story, an alternate human race, shape shifting and mad scientists. To me it moved a little slow and took a long time to get to the meatier parts of the story. I had a hard time getting real attached to the characters. Over all it was a good read, if a bit long. I think this book would appeal to a younger audience, I would consider the sexual content to be for age 17 and up, not that it was explicit, just mature. I give this book 3 stars.

Book Review for “Maximilian Standforth and the Case of the Dangerous Dare
My first taste of author Scott Southard was through his book “A Jane Austen Daydream”, which I loved, so I don’t know what I was really expecting from this book. Not at all like Jane Austen. This book proved to me the writing skill of Mr. Southard! I believe the man has quiet the imagination, albeit a twisted one. Maximilian Standforth is a mystery in the likes of Sherlock Holms, but with a case that, possibly, even he couldn’t solve. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and give it 5 stars.
Book Review for “SLATE AHN AND THE BOOKS OF KNOWLEDGE”
I was given a copy of this book by the author, Graham M. Irwin, in exchange for an honest review. I am so glad that I got the chance to read this first book in the fantasy series and will continue on with the story! The author’s writing style ensnares you into the story and keeps things interesting. I think I may have an inkling of where this story is going and can’t wait to find out if I am on the right track. Slate Ahn is a likeable character and the interesting people he meets along the way got many a chuckle out of me. This book is great for all ages, a few “minor” swear words (mostly pirate talk). I give the book 5 stars.
Review for “Between the Land and Sea”
Between the Land and the Sea is a well written “fairytale” that includes love, fashion, surfing and mermaids. Derrolyn Anderson has done a fine job of merging fact and fiction into a wonderful story. I loved this book. I am not sure if it was intended for YA, but it is certainly suitable, nothing inappropriate here, very clean writing. This isn’t a typical cheesy romance. Loved the main character of Marina, and I appreciated that the leading man is a hard working young person. I will definitely be reading more from this author. I give this book 5 stars.
Book Review for “Alexios, Before Dying”
I was given a copy of this book by the author, Chance Maree, for an honest review. The very first page grabbed my attention and I liked the book from the start. The characters, a little girl, Velia Gray, and The Magician, were also likeable from the start. I enjoyed the first couple of chapters; the author does a good job with the way she writes of getting you sucked into the story. Then about half way, I started to lose some interest, then things got weird and by the end the story totally lost me. The only way to describe it is like a disjointed dream, you know the ones that get weirder as they go, but feels really real. If you like “New Age”, “Spirit Walking”, “Out of Body Experience”, or philosophy, you would probably like the story. I think it is for more “enlightened” minds than mine. I had originally offered to read a Sci Fi book that she had written and she thought I would enjoy this one better. I wish I had read her book description first. I give the book 3 stars because the book is well written. Just not my cup of tea.
Book Review for “Rogue Genesis”
I was given this book for an honest review by the author, Ceri London. First I just need to mention to all of my Christian friends that, though I am a creationist Christian, I read this book, as it was intended as a work of FICTION. So if it bothers you to even hear the word evolution, don’t bother, having said that, I just loved this book. It is a long read, but worth every minute. This is not a book you can ‘skim’ through; every word is part of the story. I loved the characters, especially the Hero, military guy with a heart. There are more twists and turns in this book than a mountain logging road. This book can be read as a ‘stand alone’ story; I appreciate that, but will be continued. I for one will be sticking with this author and this storyline. I recommend this for teens and up (there is very little swearing and no sexual content). I give this book 5+ stars.
Review for “A Jane Austen Daydream
I was given a copy of this book by the author, Scott Southard, who is a new author for me. I happen to be a Jane Austen fan, but her own true life story was a little sad. “Jane Austen Daydream” gives an alternate version of what her life may have been like, written in a similar way to her own works. Nice clean romance! Good writing, great characters and I would definately read more from this author. This book was well done and I thoroughly enjoyed it! I recommend this to all Jane Austen fans. I give it 5 stars.
