I was given a copy of “Forager” by the author, Peter Stone, in exchange for an honest review. I really liked this book. It is set in a dystopian future where the walls of the city are more for keeping people in, then keeping the savage Skels out. Clean fiction, no explicit sex or language. Great characters and an easy writing style. Though the author is Christian, this is not a “Christian” book. Looking forward to the other two books. I can recommend this book for jr. high and up. I give it 4 stars.

Beauty’s Curse-My Third Published Book
“Beauty’s Curse is an adult fantasy/fairytale that spans centuries of bondage, shown through the intertwined lives of four people. Esmeralda, Victor, Nicholas and Adelaide are living under a curse, some of their own making, some by the cruelty of others, and a curse once cast cannot be broken. For years they have toiled under their prospective curses, each in their own way, trying to live with the burdens and troubles. Then along comes Hope, who proves that beauty is in the eye of the beholder and is better judged by what in the heart of a person. True love can break the chains that bind.”
I have always loved fairytales in the traditional sense. I love some of the new “fantasy” books as well. Beauty’s Curse, though not written as “Christian” is a clean romance that has good values and a moral (like all good fairytales). This book is appropriate for high school age and up.

Book Review for “A Warrior’s Legacy” – Christian Science Fiction/Fantasy
Guy Stanton III has done the almost impossible, he has continued a series where things jut keep getting better! Loved book three of “The Warrior Kind” series. I was given the first three books in exchange for an honest review. I liked all so much that I have purchased the remaining book as well as one in his other series. Even though there are some grammatical errors, and part of the story is told in the first person, while other parts are not, I still have to give five stars. I pretty much read this one straight through. Wonderful new world and creatures, great Sci fi and fantasy all wrapped up from a Christian view point. Faith, family and perseverance are the main themes of these books. Enough action and battle for the guys, with enough romance for the girls! Teens and up for my reading recommendation.
Book Review for “Through the Psalms with Derek Prince”- Devotional
I so loved this book. Derek Prince is one of my favorite authors. I have read many of his books. Not one of them deserved less than 5 stars, including “Through the Psalms with Derek Prince”. This one was a devotional. I usually have trouble with those as I want to read them through like a novel. But I did so much better with this one reading only one or two entries at a time. Each one is only two pages and the book is small, so not a ton of reading, but each one is packed with spiritual truth! He takes us through several Psalms to encourage and challenge us in our walk with God. Recommended for any age. It also makes a great gift!
Book Review for “Rethana’s Trial” Book Two of the Lightwalker Series-Fantasy
I really enjoyed reading book one of this series, “Rethana’s Surrender.” A great fantasy with a new language, strong characters and a great story line. Book two, “Rethana’s Trial” was even better! Great author, and great story. Will definitely be reading more by this author. I can recommend this book to teens and up. I give it a solid 5 stars. Well done.
Book Review for “Division of the Marked” YA Fantasy
I was given a copy of this book by the author, March McCarron, in exchange for an honest review. I really liked this book! It is great for the audience it was intended for, but also a good adult read as well. With strong lead characters, a good mystery and a lot to say about loyalty and friendship, the story captures your interest right away. I am looking forward to reading more from this author. Great YA Fantasy. I give this book 4 stars.
Book Review for “Chop, Chop”
Chop, Chop by L.N. Cronk is one of the best Christian Fiction stories I have read. It is a very funny book about several friends from pre-school through college. It isn’t preachy at all, doesn’t quote scriptures, but just chronicles the lives of this group of kids as they live real life stuff. The ending touched my heart and spoke volumes about forgiveness and God’s plan for our lives. Great for all ages. A refreshing change from some of the books I have been reading. Apparently there are more in the series and I plan on looking them up. I give this book 5 stars.
