I thought this was the final book! I really liked the first book, Shadow Soldier, I was given a copy by the author. In fact I purchased “Shadow Fall” to get the rest of the story. This one was even better. Military, dystopian, romance, and some real faith in God. This is a Christian fiction written without being “preachy” and the only mention God or faith is just part of the characters who believe. I am now going to have to try and be patient for book number three. It feels like a long read, not sure how many pages it was, but it was worth it. I can recommend to ages 16 and up. There is no swearing, the only sexual content is implied and threatened (rape), there is violence and fighting, so I think not great for younger readers. Good story, good writing and I give Shadow Fall five stars.

Book Review for “Shadow Soldier”- Military/Dystopian
I loved this book! Military, dystopian, and some romance. A book for guys or gals. Written without swearing and sexual content (some implied), and some un-cheesy Christian content that does not distract from the story. Post Great War, the controlling government is set up in what used to be the US. One nameless soldier is the key. There is fighting and violence. I can recommend for ages 14 and up. A great read, and a favorite new author. This is the first in a series and I am looking forward to book two! Kept me on my seat! I give it a solid 5 stars.
Book Review for “Elderberry Croft- Volume 4”- Christian Fiction
I have so thoroughly enjoyed this series. It has everything. Humor, heartache, quirky characters, and forgiveness. This last book in the “Elderberry Croft” series finally tells us the whole story of Willow Goodhope’s past. A great book about redemption and restoration. I can recommend this book for Jr. High and up, though it will probably appeal most to adult. Most of the characters are senior citizens and the main character in her 30’s. I will definitely be reading more from Becky Doughty. Good job! I give it 5 stars!
Book Review for “Elderberry Croft-volume 3”- Christian Fiction
Book number three in the series and they just keep getting better. We find out much more about Willows past in this book with hints at some interesting relationships in book four. I love these books. The characters are interesting, the writing is simple and easy to read. These have been great reads so far. I give Book three in the “Elderberry Croft” series five stars. Good job Becky Doughty. I can recommend these books to any age, though all of the characters are over 30 (mostly seniors). No swearing or sexual content. I also have to say I love the covers!
Book Review for “Elderberry Croft- Volume 2”- Christian Fiction
I loved the first book in this series and I have to say this one is just as good. A trailer park full of real people with problems and a young mysterious woman who brings something new into the mix. I will be continuing this series. A nice refreshing read! I always love a Christian book that is not “preachy”! Well done Becky Doughty! My rating is five stars. I can recommend this book for any age group, though most of the material is adult oriented. The characters are over 30.
Book Review for “Finding Sage”-Dystopian Fiction
I just loved this book! Great dystopian. Loved the characters, the twists and turns, and the whole outcast of society theme. I am so looking forward to the next in the series. I did get a little confused at the end, and had to slow down and read it again, but it will all come out clearer I am sure in the next book. Good writing and a Goodread! I give it 5 stars. Clean enough for ages 13 and up, it may be hard for some to follow along. No sex and no swearing. I was given a copy of this book by the author in exchange for an honest review |
Book Reivew for “Maebown (Weald Fae Journals #4)- Fantasy/Fiction
Loved it. Weald Fae Journals are all about modern day “fairies” (they prefer to be called Fae) and their interaction with humans. Specifically the O’Shea family. The final book! It was great. Much more battles and strategy, so if that isn’t your thing you may think it is a little boring in places. I actually like that stuff. The characters have held their own through the whole series. I still love the main character. A strong young woman, less that perfect, with a fierce loyalty to friends and family. I give it 5 stars. Great fantasy writing. Jr. High and up. No sexual content, mild swearing. I think there might have been a bit more of that in this last book.
