This is another great allegory. I love all things Arthurian and this one was no exception. It defiantly doesn’t fit the mold of the usual Kink Arthur legends. The young man (no age is given, but I am assuming high school age) and two of his friends in modern Cornwall, face up against an old evil, with the help of some strange characters. A good read and I am looking forward to the next book. I recommend for ages pre-teen and up. I give this book 4 stars.

Book Review for “Rethana’s Trial” Book Two of the Lightwalker Series-Fantasy
I really enjoyed reading book one of this series, “Rethana’s Surrender.” A great fantasy with a new language, strong characters and a great story line. Book two, “Rethana’s Trial” was even better! Great author, and great story. Will definitely be reading more by this author. I can recommend this book to teens and up. I give it a solid 5 stars. Well done.
Book Review for “An Accident of Birth”
I was given a copy of “An Accident of Birth” by the author in exchange for an honest review. I loved the story line of this book. A great Dystopian theme. I think I would have enjoyed it more if the characters had been “fleshed out” a bit, especially some of the secondary characters. Sometimes adding more length to the book is ok. More background story may have helped as well. I would read more of this author. This is his first published work and I am sure that his story telling talents will only get better. Due to a rape scene I don’t recommend for under the age of 17. I give this book 3 stars.
Book Review for “Martyr’s Moon” Fiction/Allegory
I was given a copy of this book by the author, J.E. Lowder, in exchange for an honest review. I thought I like the first book, but this one is even better! They both were long reads and you have to pay attention, not a light weekend read. I will now have to finish up the “War of the Whispers’ series to find out what happens to our unlikely heroes. This is a wonderful allegory that reminds me of “Lord of the Rings” and “Narnia.” I find myself rooting for the characters. The story is told from many angles following several key players who’s parts take them in different directions, thus the Tolkien feel. I highly recommend this book. I give it five solid stars.

Book Review for “Fugitives From Northwoods” YA Dystopian
I was given a copy of “Fugitives from Northwoods” by the author, Chris Bostic in exchange for an honest review. The title originally caught my attention because I live in the Northwoods of Wisconsin. The story contains good teenage characters. Trapped in a world where teenagers are forced to work in labor camp “for the good of all”, and the boundaries of the countries that once were familiar are all changed. Penn leads a group of young people out into the wilds of a fall in the Northwoods of Minnesota. A strong story about loyalty and friendship. I recommend for ages 13 and up due to teen relationships. I give the story 5 stars and would definitely read more from this author.
Book Review for “Tear of Min Brock” –Allegory/Fantasy
I was given a copy of this book by the author, J.E. Lowder in exchange for an honest review.
I really loved this book! It just kept getting better the farther I got. I loved the storyline, the characters are loveable. I found myself wiping away a few tears as I read. A great fantasy world. Will definitely be reading more from this author. There are several main characters, similar to Lord of the Rings. You have to pay attention to keep them all straight. For this reason I think that ages 14 and up would best understand it all, but a good read for jr. high students as well. The story is set in a society with strict rules and regulations about everything. The people live in fear and have given up on thing ever changing, but there is a whisper of hope! I give the book 5 stars.
