Book Review for “Water & Storm Country”- YA Fiction/Post Apocalyptic

I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Let me start off by saying I begged the author for this book! I have read the others in this series (some I paid for and some I was given) as well as book one in the “Dweller” series. I loved them all. Easy to read, fast paced, full of different cultures and slang. The stories can be read alone, but are part of a growing story line. One more in the series and I am looking forward to reading it. YA fantasy, post apocalyptic at it’s greatest. I can recommend for Jr. High and up. Does contain violence and fighting. Nothing too graphic. No swearing (at least not words used in our world) and no sex. The characters are so likable, flawed and realistic. David has a great understanding of the young mind. I give “Water & Storm Country” 5 solid stars. Only now, having finished this book, I realize you should read the “Dweller” series first as they all cumulate in the final book “Earth Dwellers.”

Book Review for “A Warrior’s Revenge”-Christian Science Fiction

I was given a copy of “A Warrior’s Revenge” by the author, Guy Stanton III, in exchange for an honest review. This is the last book of The Warrior Kind series. I loved them all! This one was no different than the rest in the fact that it is unapologetically Christian, has a ton of romance, fighting, science fiction, fantasy and strong morals. Did I mention I loved it? I give it five solid stars. Since reading the first book, I see some improvement in grammar and editing in this one. Mr. Stanton is one of my new favorite authors. I put him up there with Ted Dekker. I can recommend this book for Jr. High and up. There is some fighting and violence. Sad to see the series finish up, but will be moving on to his other work.

Book Review for “Ice Country”-YA Fantasy

David Estes continues with the epic story of The Country Saga. I was given a copy of book one to review and loved it so much that I purchased “Ice Country”. The writing style is simple and he obviously understands the mind of youth. A great book for teens and up. I can recommend for Jr. High age and older. A story of friendship, hardship and courage. Starting book three right away! I give this book a solid 5 stars.

Book Review for “Rouge”- YA Urban Fantasy

I was given a copy of this book by the author in exchange for an honest review. I really liked this book. It is a girl’s “superhero” story, not that I don’t think guys will like it as well. There is some swearing, and some sexual content, so I recommend for ages 17 and up. I am looking forward to the second book. This one pretty much lays the foundation of where the “superpower” comes from and who the enemy is. Great characters, only I have to admit I wasn’t thrilled with the love interest, he was a little to weak for me. But the door is left open to some interesting relationships in the series. I give it 4 stars. Would have gotten a 5 without the swearing and the sex. So if that kind of thing doesn’t bother you, then add a star.

Book Review For “Hatch”- Fantasy

At first I thought, “Another Dragon Rider book”, but I loved it. Great fantasy writing. Loveable characters, and of course, dragons. (The main one reminding me quite a bit of my dog). Appropriate for teens and up, will surely be looking forward to more in the series. I was given a copy of “Hatch” by the author, James Stevens, in exchange for an honest review. I give it 5 stars!

Book Review for “An Emerging Threat”-Fantasy

I was given a copy of “An Emerging Threat” by the author, Mark Lein, in exchange for an honest review. This was a good fantasy. The first in a series, it sets the foundation for the next stories. We are introduced to some of the characters, lands and peoples. Good writing, interesting plot. Classic story of good versus evil. I really liked it. I am looking forward to reading the rest. I can recommend to teens and up. I give it 4 stars.

If you are an author and would like me to review your book, please leave your information below with your request in the comment box. I will not review horror or erotica.

Book Review for “The Warrior”-Christian Biblical Fiction

I was given a copy of this book by the author, Wanda Ann Thomas, in exchange for an honest review. I really liked it. This story is set about 45 years before the birth of Christ. There is plenty of history, romance and suspense. All without swearing and explicit sex. Good, clean romance. I will be looking for more from this author. I give it 4 stars and can recommend for ages 16 and up.
