This is a clean, Christian romance without being preachy. Each chapter heading starts with a quote from “Pride and Prejudice”. I am not sure where the “Cheese Grits” part comes in except as a recipe in the back. Definitely a modern, southern twist on the original book. I really liked it, a fun read. I give it four stars. Good for teens and up.
I was given a copy of this book by the author, Scott Southard, who is a new author for me. I happen to be a Jane Austen fan, but her own true life story was a little sad. “Jane Austen Daydream” gives an alternate version of what her life may have been like, written in a similar way to her own works. Nice clean romance! Good writing, great characters and I would definately read more from this author. This book was well done and I thoroughly enjoyed it! I recommend this to all Jane Austen fans. I give it 5 stars.
