Book Review for “Rethana’s Surrender” Fiction-Fantasy (Series)

It happens to be FREE on Amazon Ebook version at the time of this review.

I enjoyed Rethana’s Surrender. Courtney Cantrell is a new author for me and I found I really liked her writing style. The main character is a strong, yet flawed young woman. There are various struggles, twists and turns, and many obstacles to overcome. I think the language and the way the characters speak bring a smile to my face, there is some humor inserted throughout the book. The first book finished in a good place, leaving the rest of the story unfinished, but at a good junction. I am ordering the second book right away. I can recommend this book for teens and up. I give the book a solid 4 stars.

Book Review for “Clockwork Princess” Fantasy/Fiction

I thouroughly enjoyed the Mortal Instruments series, so I went on to read the Infernal Devices. I have to say, I liked the prequels even more. I think it was because of the steampunk element and the time in which the books take place. Very well written. The flawed characters are endearing. I hated for the story to end. I give the book, and all three in the series 5 stars.

Book Review for “Tear of Min Brock” –Allegory/Fantasy

I was given a copy of this book by the author, J.E. Lowder in exchange for an honest review.
I really loved this book! It just kept getting better the farther I got. I loved the storyline, the characters are loveable. I found myself wiping away a few tears as I read. A great fantasy world. Will definitely be reading more from this author. There are several main characters, similar to Lord of the Rings. You have to pay attention to keep them all straight. For this reason I think that ages 14 and up would best understand it all, but a good read for jr. high students as well. The story is set in a society with strict rules and regulations about everything. The people live in fear and have given up on thing ever changing, but there is a whisper of hope! I give the book 5 stars.

Book Review for “Division of the Marked” YA Fantasy

I was given a copy of this book by the author, March McCarron, in exchange for an honest review. I really liked this book! It is great for the audience it was intended for, but also a good adult read as well. With strong lead characters, a good mystery and a lot to say about loyalty and friendship, the story captures your interest right away. I am looking forward to reading more from this author. Great YA Fantasy. I give this book 4 stars.

Book Review for “Bristles”-YA fantasy/fairytale

Bristles was a great spin on the traditional Cinderella story. Good YA book set in a alternative society where the government is strong arming its people. Bryssa or Bristles as her step mother calls her, steps out of her horrid life to change it all for everyone. I give this book 4 stars for YA.

Review for “Aetherfae” -fantasy

Book three of the Weald Fae Journals continues with the story of Maggie O’Shea. I just love these books. I just finished this one and felt like I just got off of the worlds longest roller coaster ride! The ups, downs, twists and turns keep you rooted in your seat. Christopher Shields understands teenagers and loyalty, a gripping storyline and fun characters. I will continue reading them as quick as he can pump them out. Each book maintains the drive and the plot without losing any of it’s momentum as so many series can do. I give this book a solid five stars. YA and older fantasy lovers will enjoy this one.
