“A cruel wizard puts a curse on his apprentice, because she falls in love with another, and the wizard wanted her for himself. This sets into motion curses that will effect others through the centuries, and those involved will come to understand everything has its consequences. What you want may not end as you think, especially if you’re thinking more of yourself than others. I wasn’t drawn into the novel at first, but all this changed. Especially after Victor adopts the scarred little girl, Hope, and they devise a plan to save Victor’s estranged son from a curse, the story became riveting, and I couldn’t put it down. As in all good fairy stories, the lessons are unforgettable. Don’t give up on this one too soon. It turns into a beautiful, touching romance.”
